Amtec is a proudly independent South African company that supplies a product range to supply all facets of the motoring, industrial and agricultural lubricant market. We have been supplying industrial and automotive lubricants since 1991 under the name VALLEYLUBE. 

Advanced Mechanical and Lubrication Technology t/a Amtec (Pty) Ltd was registered in 1999 and specialises in synthetic lubricants for speciality applications. Blending of our products is done on-site using imported base oils and additives. All products are formulated according to OEM, ASTM, JASO and European specifications. Our products all comply and in some cases, exceed the manufacturers recommendations. 

Amtec’s research laboratory is continuously evaluating the most advanced technology behind the products that are blended on site. Quality coupled with value for money are of the utmost importance to us.  Special products can also be manufactured to suit the needs of individual clients. 

Amtec also supply fuel to the racing industry and custom formulated fuels for the top racers in the country. We have also manufactured products that were developed by an enthusiast representing the hot rodding and V8 fraternity. 
A comprehensive equipped Tribological Laboratory is utilised for quality testing, research and analytical analysis. The lab is equipped to test new and used oils according to the prescribed ASTM specifications. Qualitative tests are performed on all in-house products to ensure that specifications are met and that the products all top quality. Other specialised tests are performed upon request. 

The company is headed up by Dewald Smith who holds a diploma in Mechanical Engineering from the Vaal University of Technology as well as a certificate in Tribology (SAIT). He has also completed advanced courses in air conditioning design, seal technology and hydraulic system design.
